South Mountain Solar Co-op selects Icon Power to serve group
South Phoenix, AZ – The South Mountain Solar Co-op has selected Icon Power to install solar panels for the 42-member group. Co-op members selected Icon Power through a competitive bidding process over four other firms. The group held two public information sessions to educate the community about solar and the co-op process.
“We are very excited to be selected, considering how thoroughly they reviewed each company that submitted a bid,” said Jordan Bastian. “We are on a mission to help as many people adopt solar as we can, by providing quality service and products for a competitive price.”
Co-op members selected Icon Power because of their competitive pricing, variety of battery storage options, and 20-year workmanship warranty.
Solar United Neighbors expands access to solar by educating Arizona residents about the benefits of distributed solar energy, helping them organize group solar installations, and strengthening solar policies and its community of solar supporters.
The co-op was open to new members until January 31, 2021.
The solar co-op is free to join and joining the co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. Icon Power will provide each co-op member with an individualized proposal based on the group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, members can save on the cost of going solar and have the support of fellow group members and solar experts at Solar United Neighbors.
Solar United Neighbors supports solar co-ops across the country. These co-ops are a part of the organization’s mission to create a new energy system with rooftop solar as the cornerstone. Solar United Neighbors holds events and education programs to help people become informed solar consumers, maximize the value of their solar investment and advocate for fair solar policies. Those interested in supporting the organizations’ work and becoming a member can do so at their website.
