What is Power Up Ellis County?
Solar United Neighbors (SUN) is deploying solar and battery storage in Ellis County, Texas. The goal is to help residents and nonprofits lower their electric bills, increase resilience, and take control of where their energy comes from.
SUN will provide 200 free battery appliances to renters for emergency backup power, and fully funded solar and battery storage for 15 income-qualified homes and 4 local nonprofits. Residents and organizations can also join our Community Advisory Committee to help shape how the program runs.

Solar United Neighbors (SUN), is a nonprofit organization that represents the needs and interests of solar owners. For nearly 20 years, we have worked in Texas and across the country to help people go solar, join together, and fight for their energy rights.
