VPP Tariff & Policy

Solar United Neighbors has developed a tested model to make Virtual Power Plants successful in your state. With our model legislation and tariff, SUN is working across the country to standardize scalable VPP programs. Our policy ensures:

  • Upfront incentives for enrollment
  • Fair compensation for participation
  • Prioritizes consumer protection
  • Includes many different technologies & devices

While some states have Virtual Power Plant programs, many do not. It can be a complex process to get a VPP connected to the grid. It takes advocacy and good policy to ensure participants are fairly compensated. SUN wants to guarantee everyone to have a voice in the process — not just monopoly utilities.
