Write to your elected officials!
- Energy democracy & policy

Your elected officials need to hear from you about your experience with solar and why you support it — how you’ve benefited, how it’s impacted your community, and why you want them to protect solar investments.
A call is great but so is a handwritten postcard or letter. You can order SUN Action branded postcards here, but you can also use your own postcards or letterhead. The important thing is to share your support! If you’re writing to your federal representatives, please write to both their home and Washington, D.C. office.
Who should I write to?
- Your federal representatives! Find your senators and members of congress here.
- Your state and local representatives. While the current attacks on solar are at the federal level, it’s important to show support for solar in your state as well. Your Governor, State Representatives, and even City Council members make decisions every day that impact solar owners, supporters, and future solar owners.
- Friends and neighbors! Want to encourage a solar owner you know to take action? Write them a short note!
