West Houston Solar Co-op selects Sunshine Renewable Solutions
Katy, TX – Solar United Neighbors (SUN) announced today that members of its West Houston Solar Co-op selected Sunshine Renewable Solutions to install solar panels for the 29-member group. Co-op members selected Sunshine Renewable Solutions through a competitive bidding process more than seven other installers that bid.
SUN will hold its final virtual public information session for the co-op on Tuesday, July 14, at 6:30 p.m. The free session will educate the West Houston community about solar energy and the co-op process.
“It is an honor to be selected because we know how thoroughly the co-op reviewed each bid,” said Sid Chandrashekar, vice president of sales and operations for Sunshine Renewable Solutions. “We’ve worked hard to build our reputation and spread the love of clean energy and energy independence in the Houston area. We are ecstatic to help more people go solar by providing them with an amazing customer experience at an incredibly low cost.”
SUN expands access to solar by educating residents of the Houston area — including Richmond, Katy, and Cypress — about the benefits of distributed solar energy, helping them to organize group solar purchases, and strengthening Houston area solar policies and its community of solar supporters.
Solar co-op members selected local installer Sunshine Renewable Solutions for their competitive pricing, battery options, and workmanship warrantee.
“I joined the West Houston Solar Co-op to learn more about the process for installing solar at my house, and to also to get an idea of the cost,” said co-op member Joseph Garfunkel of Houston. “The solar co-op has been very helpful with providing webinars and other information describing the entire process.”
Garfunkel served on the committee of co-op members who volunteered to review bids and choose an installer for the group. He said about the experience, “I found that our discussion during that process was extremely helpful in better understanding the features being offered by the different vendors, as well the different costs and options that are available.”
The co-op is open to new members until July 31. Houston area residents living in the western towns interested in joining the co-op can sign up at West Houston Solar Co-op.
The solar co-op is free to join and joining the co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. Sunshine Renewable Solutions will provide each co-op member with an individualized proposal based on the group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, members can save on the cost of going solar and have the support of fellow group members and solar experts at SUN.
