Rachel Pecharka
Rachel is enthusiastic about expanding equitable access to solar energy across Pennsylvania. With an MPA in Urban Planning and Development and a BA in Sociology from the University of Pittsburgh, she has learned the value of combining sustainable infrastructure and technology with community development practices. She believes in grassroots advocacy and data-driven policy, and the critical role they both play in sparking social change. Her prior experience is in community organizing, policy research, and geographic information systems for non-profit organizations throughout the Pittsburgh region. She is excited to join Solar United Neighbors and further advocate for clean and equitable energy systems.
As a competitive mountain biker, Rachel spends much of her free time in the woods around Pittsburgh, either riding or doing trail maintenance. She is also an amateur sourdough baker and gardener, and loves spending time with her family, friends, dog, and cat.
