David Ortiz
David Ortiz is the Program Director for Solar United Neighbors in Puerto Rico (PR). As the director, he leads all local and federal organizing and advocacy campaigns related to PR. David also leads all the work related to the coops and the deployment, community outreach, and education related to our solar deployment project in Salinas, Puerto Rico. At SUN, he brings together his passion for caring for the environment by promoting the transition and access to renewable energy and defending the rights of consumers.
David was co-founder of the Youth Development Program at La Alianza Hispana, Inc. in Roxbury, MA, the Young Civic Leaders at MassVOTE in Boston, MA, and El Puente Puerto Rico, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He has been organizing and mobilizing communities, coordinating educational activities, and promoting public policies for social and environmental justice for more than 25 years. David holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Cambridge College and a Master of Public Policy from Tufts University.
