Anabel Sánchez is the Puerto Rico Fellow for Solar United Neighbors. In this role, she provides support with outreach and volunteer initiatives, helps organize SUN community events, provides strategic input into programs and volunteer activities, and contributes to the development and management of the Puerto Rico Advisory Council.

She holds a Master of Business Administration from UIPR. In addition to her career expertise in business administration and human resources, Anabel has had a lifelong passion for volunteer work. She has participated in volunteer movements such as Lucha contra el Sida for 15 years and Angel Tree program for 9 years, is part of the PR Medical Reserve since 2019, and has led various community-focused projects in the University Gardens’ Iglesia Cristiana Discípulos de Cristo for 9 years.

In 2023, she volunteered for a PR-SUN event for the first time, where she recruited 31 volunteers to staff the event and even led a training session. Since the experience of Hurricane María, Anabel has been an avid advocate for energy resilience and sustainability for all, but particularly for Puerto Rico’s most marginalized communities.
