Solar United Neighbors Executive Director Anya Schoolman released the following statement in response to reports of the use of forced labor to manufacture solar panel components in Xinjiang, China,:

Solar United Neighbors is deeply disturbed by reports of the use of forced labor in solar panel component manufacturing in Xinjiang, China. We stand firmly against the human rights abuses being committed against the Uyghur people. We are fighting for a clean, equitable energy system that creates good jobs and benefits communities everywhere.  Forced labor has no place in that vision. We strongly support the solar industry-led pledge opposing forced labor in solar manufacturing and calling for tracking and transparency protocols to ensure an ethical solar supply chain.
