South Central Ohio Program Associate

Ryan Foshee, South Central Ohio Program Associate at Solar United Neighbors, is a sustainability expert and community leader with more than 20 years of experience in the environmental and energy industries. Over the years, Ryan has dabbled in a broad range of work, both social and technical/analytical in nature.

Ryan has seen projects through from concept to success on everything from environmental advocacy campaigns to research, planning, and project execution for governments, utilities, private sector clients, and nonprofits. Ryan has created new environmental organizations and large-scale local events, once managed an energy efficiency program on behalf of a utility, developed energy projects in the private sector, and coordinated or expanded environmental coalitions.

He has been a core team member for partners big and small: from family businesses to large government agencies, mayor’s offices to grassroots volunteer groups. As an independent consultant for over a decade, Ryan worked with clients on projects ranging from ghost-writing climate action plans to designing sustainability tools such as rating systems and protocols for greenhouse gas accounting.

Above all, Ryan is most proud of those times that he’s succeeded in inspiring vigor, cooperation, camaraderie, and success in others, toward a more peaceful and sustainable world. As a student of climate science, Ryan understands that it will take many, many Neighbors and many bold actions to rescue our current and future world. So, let’s get to it! In his spare time, he volunteers with a variety of local organizations and serves as the Co-Chair of the Clintonville Green Team, a committee of the Clintonville Area Commission in the City of Columbus. He’s also a proud father and husband, Texas-born and Ohio-livin’ since 2012.
