Your guide to the SRP elections
Who controls Arizona’s energy future and your electricity bill? If you’re a Salt River Project (SRP) customer, the answer is the SRP board. They decide whether Arizona invests in affordable solar energy or expensive fossil fuels, and they decide your monthly electricity rates. But YOU can decide who’s in those seats. 99% of eligible customers didn’t vote in the last election. Let’s make this year different.
Watch: Why SRP elections matter (and why so few people vote!)

What’s at stake
The SRP District Board and Council make decisions that affect over one million electric customers, including:
- Your monthly electricity rates.
- Credits for solar energy and net metering policies.
- Clean energy investments and renewable energy targets.
- Grid modernization and customer programs.
Am I eligible to vote?

SRP uses a complex and restrictive voting system. To be eligible, you must:
- Own land in SRP’s historic service territory.
- Be registered to vote in Arizona by March 3, 2026.

Your vote is weighted by how much land you own. Not sure if you’re eligible? Read SRP’s Elections FAQ or email us at azteam@solarunitedneighbors.org.
How to voteHow to vote
There are two ways to cast your ballot — by mail, or in person.
Option 1: Vote by mail
To vote by mail, you must first request an early ballot by March 27, 2026. You can do this by:
- Requesting online (this is the fastest option).
- Downloading and mailing the ballot request form.
- Or, by calling SRP’s Election Line at (602) 236-3048.
- SRP’s website has more information here.
Return your completed ballot by mail (April 1 is the last day to safely mail your ballot back) or drop it off at the SRP Voting Center on Election Day, April 7 from 6am – 7pm at 1500 N. Mill Ave, Tempe. Ballots must be received by 7pm on Election Day. Postmarked ballots will not be counted.
Option 2: Vote in person
Eligible voters may vote in person anytime after March 11 through election day on April 7. If you plan to vote in person, make sure to bring ID.
- Vote in person on election day: 6am – 7pm on April 7 at the SRP voting center: 1500 N Mill Ave, Tempe, AZ.
- Vote early in-person: Mon-Fri, 8:30am – 5pm starting March 11 at the SRP voting center: 1500 N Mill Ave, Tempe, AZ.
