After you sign up, we’ll take a look at your property by satellite image remotely. If it looks like it’s a good fit for solar, we’ll add you to the program and you’ll start receiving an email series designed to support you in your solar journey.

About the Ready, Set, Solar! Southern Ohio Program
A new, free program from Solar United Neighbors will guide you how to go solar across Southern Ohio! Our team of experts will simplify the process of installing solar panels by providing step-by-step guidance. This will help you make the most informed decision when purchasing solar panels, electric vehicle chargers and battery storage systems. Joining the program will get you:
- Info to help you understand solar. Our vendor-neutral solar experts are here to help you understand how solar works and make the best decision for your energy needs.
- A direct line to ask specific questions. You can call or email us anytime you need help. We’ll be here now and long after you install solar.
- Team support to review proposals from solar companies. Our team offers all the information you want about solar without the slant or impact that can come with the information provided by a solar company. Our personalized Solar Help Desk takes the complexity out of solar so you can make an informed decision that’s right for you, your home, and your future.
- Community. You’ll join the growing solar movement. You’ll have a built-in network of support and inspiration from others who, like you, are taking a stand for energy freedom and advancing the clean energy economy.
- A bigger impact! Going solar creates jobs and puts energy production and its benefits back in the hands of the people and contributes to cleaner air and water for everyone.
The Ready, Set, Solar! Southern Ohio program utilizes a comprehensive curriculum that includes multifaceted educational resources and group activities. Participants will receive:
- A free roof review
- Informational materials covering the basics of solar technology
- Tips for financing and incentives
- Learn about solar policies
- Help with installer proposals, selection and installation expectations
- Additional follow-up resources on solar ownership

- Week 1 – Learn the Basics
- Day 1 – Join the group, meet your group members, say hello
- Day 2 – Financing solar
- Day 3 – Economics & incentives for solar
- Day 4 – Solar technology, warranties, etc.
- Day 5 – Net Metering explained
- Day 6 – Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) — when applicable
- Day 7 – Week 1 wrap-up
- Week 2 – Battery technology and EV Charger technology, connecting with your community
- Week 3 – Find installers, ask the right questions, and get proposals
- Week 4 – Getting proposals and bonus content
- Week 5 – How to review and compare proposals
- Week 6 – Proposal comparison services & group support
- Week 7 – Proposal comparison services & group support
- Week 8 – What to expect during installation and beyond
- Ongoing and follow-up support throughout project completion including:
- Online question and answer sessions
- Access to our new Solar Owner’s Manual
