Solar Advocacy: Support full funding for REAP in the 2024 Farm Bill

Help farmers and rural small businesses go solar

What is happening

The USDA’s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) offers grants and loans that make solar more affordable for farmers and rural small business owners. REAP is an essential program for bringing more solar energy to rural communities across the country. With affordable energy made possible by a REAP grant, American farmers and entrepreneurs can stay in business and keep our rural economies growing.

As Congress works on the next Farm Bill, which will determine the funding levels and rules for the REAP program for the next four years, some legislators are proposing to drastically cut funding and restrict grants for solar projects. These cuts would significantly hamper the progress we’ve made in bringing clean energy to rural areas and could jeopardize the economic stability of many farms and rural businesses.

To make sure that doesn’t happen, your Congressional delegation needs to hear from solar supporters like you. Urge your representatives to support full funding and flexibility for REAP in the Farm Bill by sending them an email today.

Your voice can make a significant impact in advocating for the continuation and strengthening of this essential program.
